Garbe Industrial Real Estate Realises New Company Headquarters For “tesa nie wieder bohren GmbH” In Hanau.

Garbe Industrial Real Estate GmbH and Bremer Projektentwicklung GmbH (Bremer project development) have begun construction of a state-of-the-art logistics centre in the Hanau Technology Park. Following extensive revitalization, the new headquarters for “tesa nie wieder bohren GmbH” will be built there by the end of 2020 with a total area of around 20,000 square meters.

A good year ago, Garbe Industrial Real Estate and the Bremer Projektentwicklung had acquired the approx. 35,000 square meter property in the Hanau Technology Park as a joint venture. Fuel elements for nuclear power plants were produced on the site until the end of the 1980s. In order to make the fallow land usable for logistic and commercial purposes, a remaining bunker had to be demolished. This involved the use of 18 tons of explosives and left 90,000 tonnes of debris, which was recycled on site and reused as a base layer. “Our many years of experience in the revitalisation and development of derelict industrial sites is of particular benefit to us in this project,” says Bernd Jungholt, managing director of Bremer Projektentwicklung GmbH.

“We are pleased to have won ‘tesa nie wieder bohren’ as a long-term tenant and to realise the new company headquarters,” emphasises Jan Dietrich Hempel, managing director of Garbe Industrial Real Estate GmbH. The company, which employs around 100 people, will use a substantial part of the property. On 7,500 square meters, “tesa nie wieder bohren” wants to store and pack self-adhesive handles, strips, hooks, storage baskets, cosmetic mirrors, and other bathroom and kitchen accessories. The customers include end consumers, craft businesses and DIY stores. The customer base extends as far as China, South America, and the USA. “Due to continuous growth, our previous location in Hanau has become too small. The company headquarters can stay in Hanau by locating in the technology park,” says managing director Thorsten Helgers. With the help of the Hanau Economic Development Agency, the company came into contact with Garbe and Bremer at an early stage. “The property will be tailored to the needs of our work processes and operations.”

The fact that “tesa nie wieder bohren” will stay in the city of Hanau is also good news for Mayor Claus Kaminsky: “I see an enormous potential for development. This is why the city and the business development agency have supported the company in its search for a new location to the best of their ability”
